A hotel keeps three things straight at once: which rooms are sellable tonight, who is in them, and what each guest owes. WEAF Point of Sale keeps all three on one front desk — occupancy, rooms ready, rooms waiting on housekeeping, what is sitting on guest accounts, and who is arriving and leaving today.

The front desk: every room with its state and its rates, who is arriving today and who is due out, and what is sitting on guest accounts
Not every room is sold by the night. A room type carries a rate for each way it is sold — by the night, the day, the 24 hours or the hour — and says which is normal for that room. A blank rate means the room is not sold that way at all, so “not offered” can never be mistaken for “free”. A minimum can be set, and a stay keeps the minimum it began with.

Checking a guest in: the room, how it is charged, who is staying, the rate plan, and whether the bar and restaurant may charge to the room
A basket at the till can be moved onto a resident guest's room account. Nothing is fiscalised at that moment — it is declared with the rest of the stay at check-out, so the guest receives one invoice for the room, the extras and everything they signed for. Charges that are owed but not yet posted show on the account and count in the balance, so the cashier takes payment against the same figure that reaches the invoice.
The rooms, the restaurant, the bar and the shop run on one licence, one item list, one stock ledger and one set of books. A hotel with a restaurant does not need two systems that disagree at the end of the month.
